A couple weeks ago i was watching a National Geographic video on tides and I was amazed. There was a clip that showed tides moving up the Amazon river and creating huge waves. Curious by this, I decided to see if there have been any surfers try to ride these waves. Sure enough, surfers have recently caught these waves and ride them UP the amazon river.
Through the magic of YouTube and every possible video in the world within a keystroke i found this:
This is a natural Phenomenon called Pororocca. This rare and feared phenomenon that happens only under certain climatic conditions, always under a full moon, crashes up the Amazon River wreaking havoc on the shores.
