Sony/BMG is stealing information from its customers through a rootkit installed (unknowingly) when a music cd is put in your computer. How ironic is this when they have spent millions trying to kill downloading and people "stealing" from them. When are they going to get it? When are the artists going to stand up to their 16% royalties from these record companies. 16% is just over a dollar per cd that is sold. A band with 4 members shares this amount.
Maybe our beloved Senator Orrin Hatch had something to do with it when he sponsored and wrote the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and who believes that people who download copyright materials from the Internet should have their computers automatically destroyed. "I'm all for destroying their machines," Hatch said during a Committee hearing Tuesday. "'If you have a few hundred thousand of those, I think people would realize' the seriousness of their actions,"their actions
Come to find out.... Orrin G Hatch official website was using unlicensed JavaScript software.. A $900.00 program unlicensed... Quite unfortunate after the comments he made.
