Finally Bush speaks on immigration.

Bush has been in office for nearly 5 years. Four years have passed since 9-11. Illegals flow over the borders by the millions annually, taking jobs and services that should be reserved for citizens and those who follow the law for a shot at the American Dream. We need to see enforcement of our immigration laws and need to deport the immigrants that have been allowed to to get away with criminal activity in our country. Stiff fines need to be levied to employers who hire illegals. Illegal immigration is putting a major strain on local, state and federal government. It impacts our national security, our economy, education system, and health care systems. This administration needs to get serious about securing the boarders.

Here are some key statistics President Bush spoke on yesterday in Arizona:

  • 85% of Illegals we catch are Mexican
  • 15% are not Mexican and are released and given a court date
  • 75% of those do not appear in court.

This says to me that 25% of these people that do appear in court are pretty dumb. I mean they come into the country illegally anyway, why turn themselves in when they have been set free?
